ABOUT OM

OUR STORY

Welcome to Montreal's oldest multi-style yoga studio, spreading the love of yoga and wellness since 1993. Founded by Gigi Cohen as the Pointe-Claire Holistic Center, it has welcomed renowned teachers such as Dr. Bali and Mark Darby. In 2008, Yasmin F. Gow took over as Om West and set a Guinness World Record at the time for a 32 hour long yoga practice. Since 2012, Antoine Chacour Tinawi and Pamela Gooria, disciples of master Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, have had the privilege of bringing this essential wellness banner to new heights.

Antoine and Pamela, grateful for the teachings they received, left their careers in engineering and project management to share the benefits of yoga with the community. They have enriched the yoga offering with wellness centers (massage therapy, osteopathy, Ayurveda, acupuncture) and a professional training school (in yoga and massage therapy). In 2016, a new branch in Ville Saint-Laurent was added, followed by Lachine in 2019 and Décarie Boulevard in 2021, allowing members to access all four studios with a single package.

In 2021, Om West studios became Vibrations Om, under the same management and with the same services, to better reflect our vision of spreading positive vibrations in the community. In 2024, Académie Om was created as a  dedicated separate company to carry out our professional yoga and massage certifications courses.

Vibrations Om is a labor of love. Thank you for being part of our journey; you are at the heart of our thriving community that we enrich together every day.

Antoine Chacour Tinawi is a direct disciple of spiritual master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, with whom he travels, studies, and teaches yoga in all its forms: postures, breathing, meditation, mantras, service, and philosophy. Since 1993, Antoine has accumulated over 3,000 hours of training in yoga and meditation with the Art of Living, Sri Sri Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, and Ashtanga Yoga schools. He has also pursued continuing education in Yin yoga, restorative yoga, adapted yoga, and chair yoga.

Antoine was among the first 10 teachers in Canada to earn the E-RYT 500 designation — the highest certification level from Yoga Alliance — and served on their Advisory Group for schools and studios. In 2008, he left the corporate world, where he worked as an IT project manager, to dedicate himself full-time to volunteering with the Art of Living Foundation, an international non-profit organization. As the Canadian Yoga Coordinator for the Art of Living, he taught yoga and meditation in several countries, and started and managed the Art of Living Centre in Montreal.

His passion for helping people improve their physical and mental health also led him to train as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMQ) and Certified Ayurvedic Therapist (ANQ).

Since 2012, Antoine has been the founder of Vibrations Om, a chain of wellness centers in Montreal dedicated to enhancing physical and mental well-being. Vibrations Om opened locations in Pointe-Claire (2012), Saint-Laurent (2016), Lachine (2019), and Décarie (2021). He also founded two professional training schools: since 2015, Vibrations Om Yoga School has offered Yoga Alliance-recognized yoga teacher certifications, and since 2017, Vibrations Om Massage School has provided massage therapy certifications recognized by the RMPQ, RMQ and RITMA. In 2024, Antoine launched Académie Om, a separate institution dedicated to professional training.

Antoine is a regular presenter at major local and international yoga events and conferences. He holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from McGill University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 10 years of corporate experience.

Pamela Gooria teaches yoga in all its aspects — postures, breathing techniques, meditation, mantras, service, and philosophy — drawing on the ancient traditions of yoga and meditation she received from her teacher, internationally renowned spiritual master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. She is certified in Ashtanga and Sivananda yoga, as well as Yin yoga, chair yoga, children’s yoga, teen yoga, and prenatal yoga. Pamela offers classes and workshops to individuals, institutions, and companies. She is also a certified Ayurvedic therapist (ANQ) specializing in marma therapy (Ayurvedic acupressure points).

Pamela is the co-owner of Vibrations Om yoga and wellness centres in Pointe-Claire (since 2012), Saint-Laurent (2016), Lachine (2019), and Décarie (2021).

Over the years, Pamela has been deeply involved in service projects with the Art of Living Foundation, an international volunteer-based non-profit NGO. She has taught yoga, meditation, and breathing workshops, led the Kids-for-Kids program in Montreal to promote human values in schools, and managed the Art of Living Centre in Montreal.

She also founded McGill University’s very first yoga club, offering students yoga and stress-reduction techniques. For several years, Pamela led Montreal’s first weekly vegetarian and vegan cooking classes, building a community and inspiring hundreds to make healthy food choices.

Pamela graduated from McGill University with a degree in Computer Engineering and left her corporate career in robotics in 2010 to pursue her passion for yoga. In 2015, she successfully completed her personal challenge of eliminating myopia through daily study and practice of eye yoga.
